Once the skirt was made, I suggested making a shrug out of the rest of the t-shirt, an idea that thrilled her. I did most of the cutting, she may be almost 9, but she's left handed and struggles to use my sewing scissors. I taught her to make rolled flowers so we both made the embellishments on the shrug from my scrap pile.
When JuneBug tried on the outfit, I remembered finding pink corduroy hats on clearance for $1 over the summer, I bought the 4 they had left! It turned out to be the perfect accessory to the outfit. We are both thrilled and can't wait for the party.
Here is the complete outfit, she was having fun posing:
Tasha's birthday is tomorrow, she'll be 7. JuneBug has left me with instructions of how she wants me to make a similar outfit for her. I'm planning on making it today so she can wear it to school tomorrow!
I'll be linking this up with lots of parties for her this week, so check my party girl page to see where you can find us this week. Feel free to leave comments, she'll be thrilled to read them after school!
Peace be with you,
