Stash Busting Skirt

To say I have a lot of fabric is an understatement.  Most of it is less than a yard, mainly because I buy it before I have a project for it.  I am trying to change that habit, I haven't been in the fabric store since January (yeah me!).  I love to use remnants, I see it like a fabric puzzle and that's just exciting.

With the goal of depleting my fabric stash, I mixed several fat quarters of various hot pink batik and made this skirt:
It's very full and twirls nicely, which makes it a lot of fun.  I'm thinking of making some more, maybe with more contrast?

I'm also trying to figure out what to do with a few old bridesmaid dresses... Mod Cloth has a ton of fun party dresses, but I just can't decide what to do...

Peace be with you,

This turned out great! It doesn't look like fat quarters at all. I would be interested in seeing it with more contrast, but it looks really well designed as is.

Such a cute skirt for spring! Amazing that you were able to use the fat quarters to make it! Thanks for linking up!

I am loving this skirt. What is the waist band like? I also buy fat quarters before projects. Great idea!

For the waist band I folded it over to make a casing and used 1 inch no roll elastic in it, very easy
