We made a trip to our local Home Depot for some seeds and supplies to get an early start on our fruit and veggie plants this year. I'm constantly encouraging my children to eat better by attempting to grow some of our own produce in our tiny back yard as well visit our local farmers markets when in season. Starting from seeds will be a first for us this year.
One week after planting this is just a sample of what is in our kitchen right now:
Some herbs and a grape vine (we also have the start of raspberry and blueberry bushes, strawberries, potatoes and asparagus, those plants aren't worth starting from seed)
Two types of tomatoes and beans, onions, carrots, cucumbers, zucchini, summer squash, cantaloupe, watermelon and spinach. Right now everything is actually growing!!!! It will be interesting to see what happens when we start planting everything outside...
Hopefully JuneBug's enthusiasm for selecting the plants will continue, I'm hoping she is the real green thumb in the family.
Peace be with you,
