WIMTWW: Mens Shirt Refashion

Prior to actually having a blog I followed quite a few and many of them inspired my interest in blogging and upcycling clothes.  This is a shirt I made late last summer but actually only finished this week!  Since I did it pre-blogging I don't have a tutorial of it but I will give you the basics.  Don't mind the 7 year old's photography skills!

Starting with a too large men's shirt, I removed the arms and collar at the seams.  I just cut them off carefully.  Then I took the sides in to give it a more fitted shape.  Using the sleeves and extra fabric from the sides I made and attached a ruffle to either side of the center buttons.  I also made a waist tie.  To finish off the edges where the collar and sleeves were cut off, I simply zig zaged with coordinating thread right at the edge.

It is quite comfortable and a bit nicer than an old t-shirt.  I got the idea from an Anthropologie shirt that is no longer available.

I will be linking up to some of these parties this week, like http://todayscreativeblog.net/linky-party/!
